Engine Stand - four-wheel

Post by rbgosling »

With my engine now back where it belongs, I am finished with my engine stand (and don't have room to store it until the next rebuild in another 175,000 miles!). Available first to other forum members at £19 (half what I paid for it), before I throw it out to eBay. Collection from near Coventry (and LotusBits  ), or delivery at your cost (it's not light, but I'll work out the cheapest option via courier).

This stand has 4 wheels, essential for the Lotus engine, do NOT buy a 3-wheel stand it will fall over! Front wheels are castored, rears fixed. Engine can be rotated all the way round in 45 degree increments. The stand is in excellent condition and works perfectly, the paint on the wheels is worn but otherwise looks like new, it's even been cleaned. I'll also throw in some bolts that are long enough and the right thread for mounting a Lotus engine.

Mike Taylor (LotusBits) did advise me to make an adaptor so the engine can also be attached via the engine mount locations on the side. I didn't do this (partly due to lack of metal fabrication equipment), and didn't find this to be a problem.

Richard. I'll buy the stand. It will be available through the forum toolkit for all members to use and return. :D

OK, great - do you want me to sort out a delivery cost? Sadly I can't hold it here until another member has a use for it, really no space :(

Great - PM sent.

Is there a list somewhere of what's in the forum toolkit, and who's looking after it?

Thanks Stu - I've got an engine stand but I'm just in the process of fabricating a framework to mount the diff to it, to make setting it up easier, so an engine stand to use with the engine will be handy!
