Choke Knob Thingy

Post by Shano »

:? Hi Guys,
Just wondering would anybody have for sale a choke cable complete for an 84 excel? I've been told by various dealers that this part is no longer available, all I really need is the knob for "aesthetic" reasons as I dont use the choke or rather can't because some muppet took the original cable and pull out of the car before I bought it! Anyway I'll gladly take the whole unit if its available!
Cheers

If it's any help, the choke knob in my car (88MY) is the same as a Austin Metro from the same era. Maybe a trip to the breakers?

Give me a hoy if you're stuck, I have a spare one, but the cable's been cut off just behind the knob sleeve. You might be able to fit a new inner cable to it...... Happy to hand over for cost of postage from Oz

It's the same choke on pretty much any BL/Austin car from the 80s to 90s. My Westfield has one that came from the Allegro that donated the steering column (or was it the Maxi that donated the ball joints ? )
