Fuel Tank and Pump

Post by Petcel »

Hi again you beautiful bunch! :D
I have a poorly fuel tank (rotten from the inside out) which has then juiced my fuel pump. Which type of pump would you recommend for a standard engine?
Does anybody have a decent fuel tank they would like to move on, or again know of a decent replacement? Just as a short term tide over for now as I'm going to have a stab at making my own alloy tank.

fuel pump thread : http://www.lotusexcel.net/phpbb/viewtop ... ump+beyond

or get an electronic conversion kit from Burlen (although I recommend a replacement pump as the diaphragm is likely to be suffering from age by now)

SORN - just say NO!

As I will be in LB (Lotusbits) over the weekend sometime, if you buy one from them I can bring it down to Oxfordshire - about 45 miles from you. If that helps.

So the replacement SU pump @ 2.7 psi is the right one for me?
If so that's what I'll get as I'm not going to waste money on repairing a (probably) 32 year old pump.

Totally appreciate the offer.......... and I may be hung drawn and quartered here but,
eBay are sporting many pumps from £40 - £65. Not the £90 LB want.

I'm awaiting the slating, sorry.

This is why these forums are worth there weight in gold as I search various sources for parts but search by model. By knowing just that little bit more the about the cars opens up many more channels.
