Glued rotor arm!

For all those wiring gremlins we love, this is the place to discuss them.

Glued rotor arm!

Post by royal »

After having had my cylinder head reconditioned after loosing part of an exhaust valve, as it was easy to get at I replaced distributor cap, leads, and rotor arm. Original rotor arm is now still on the dizzie as it is glued there :? . Can anyone come up with a good idea why this has been done and come up with a way of getting it off without destroying the dizzie. Thanks Keith
I am just growing old disgracefully

I'd guess it was a necessity of the moment for a previous owner. Need car to work, metal clip of arm has failed so glue it.

I'd suspect a pair of mole grips and squeeze it and it would then break away from the metal of the arm. Worst case you may have to remove the dissy and work on it off the engine.
