No Donington Club Lotus in 2012

I understand via TLF that there will not be a Club Lotus Festival at Donington this year.

Hmm - lack of support from clubs, dealers or members ? (or all 3 - I do wonder how much longer CL can survive in its current form).

Our 2011 show was a great success with good weather, lots of visitors and some fantastic cars to see in the hall. The traders and stand holders reported very good business and plenty of interest from visitors and there was a real buzz around the show all weekend.

Thanks to all the members, clubs and enthusiasts who brought some superb Lotus cars for display and to the stand holders for supporting us. Thanks also to Lotus Cars and Classic Team Lotus for making a superb contribution to the spectacle by bringing along a fabulous collection of current models and historic racing cars.

So it sounded as if the event was a great success, I wonder why this years show has been cancelled?

I'm not so sure that my recollection of Donington 2011 quite matches that of CL. Something about most of the clubs and traders being jammed into small spaces in just half of the hall, with difficult access for those who had to take their cars out overnight, lack of adequate power (which was paid for) and very low visitor numbers compared with previous years ?

The reason given for cancellation this year is a scheduling problem since those who fed back to CL asked for it to be moved back to April again.
