K&N filters
Can anyone confirm if there were any changes to the air filter from the Elite/Eclat through to the last Excels? I always thought there was only one design, but the prices vary a bit on the items seen on Ebay (£40-60) with descriptions listing them for post 1984 cars.

Same fitment, two possible designs by K&N, I believe the design change had something to do with legal action from another supplier over the design of the metal plate used on the earlier version.
Metal plate version needs the expanded foam cord as for the OEM filter, the later design with no metal frame but a black rubber outer edge needs to cord type seal.
