Otter switch temperature

For all those wiring gremlins we love, this is the place to discuss them.

Otter switch temperature

Post by Boomer »

Hi guys, does anybody know the temperature at which the otter switch closes? i'm looking at replacing it with a modern screw in equivalent but obviously need one that will turn the fans on at the correct temperature.

As an interim solution, does anybody know where i can get the rubber o-ring and metal clip that hold the standard otter in?

cheers

92°c on 82°c off.

I think dealer is the only place where to find clip and rubber seal, but they are available without the switch.
I do not know if other car makers used the same system.
