Just signed it - this one definitely falls into the category of: "sensible policies for a happier Britain"! :D

I'm in :D

It'll be interesting to see the outcome of this one.

I am a firm believer of scrapping road tax and covering it by an adjustment in fuel duty. A pay as go arrangement. That would make sense in our case.
I used to be indecisive..........
but I'm not sure anymore.

I agree that's the most obvious, sensible and uncomplicated way to collect Road Tax.

And that is why our masters will never choose to go down that route.

hasn't most of Europe been doing this for years?
shame the people at the top don't realize that transport firms, taxis and reps would fill the coffers faster than us enthusiasts. But I'm sure this wont happen due to the captains of industry contributing to party coffers which must be more important than appeasing the voters.

What I don't understand is why the government is prepared to pledge billions to try to keep companies churning out over-weight Euroboxes that are incompatible with energy efficiency, but does not give a tax break or other financial incentive to a company that delivers strong but light vehicles that are compatible with future alternatives. yep, I signed :D

Well, if I was right all the time I'd get to be predictable!
