I'm not sure which car it's from but if you remove it and take it to a local parts store they may be able to help. I got my starter reconditioned at a local specialist who's been around for more than 30-years for only £60.

Also, racemettleltd.co.uk do an uprated starter, the RAC415 at £180.00 including VAT + delivery.

Cos I was bored, I had a delve on the net for a Lucas M80R starter motor. It kept coming up with references to the V12 jag engine, XJS etc. Ive not heard that before but it looks like you can get all the bits to repair one like brushes, field coils etc. Might save you a bit of brass ! Does anybody else know owt on this one, and am I right that its a Lucas M80R ?

Bash, the grey cells still do the job - Parts list specifies Lucas M80R for 912 engines (Lucas 3M100 for 907 engines). :D

Well, if I was right all the time I'd get to be predictable!

Good, if you think Ive got a sharp mind, dont, Im as sharp as a football usually. The grey matters full up with rubbish I think. but, thinking starter motors again, the motor may well be the same as the jag unit but the gearing bit etc on the end is likely to be different. The advantage is that there are lots of jag specialists to pester for bits.
