Goodwood 6th Oct - an apology

I have encouraged everyone to come to Goodwood next Saturday (see topic below). This is just to say that I myself shall almost certainly not be able to come. I am probably going into hospital for an operation on my back.

Best wishes to everyone who goes to Goodwood, however. It should be a fun day.

I'll still try to make it. Thought I might bring my 9 year old son with me ( he loves his cars!) .

Thanks, Dougie. I did in fact make Goodwood, though not in my Excel as my left leg isn't up to dealing with a car's clutch - automatics have some advantages!

Didn't see any Excels which was a pity because it was a brilliant day. Lots of Lotuses, especially Elises and other similar modern sportscars, which I'm ashamed to say I couldn't identify. But I could identify the Climax Elites and most of their owners as I have met them over the years. In fact I was able to display a large book of photos taken mostly at the annual Goodwood meetings about 20 years ago.

Sorry Derek, We didn't make it on Saturday, because one 9 year old child had a tummy bug

. I'm a bit sad that we didn't get to see the cars on the track.

We did make it to Goodwood today for the Breakfast Club though, and saw umpteen elans, europas esprits excels etc....... But all static.

I'll keep an eye on the Goodwood website for future track-days.
