Hi everyone,
I've just inherited an '87 Excel SE.
Its a great spec car with air con and leather - though having just spent the last few years of it life outside, its looking rather sorry for itself.
I plan to see if I can get the engine turning and running before assessing what needs to happen to get the car on the road.
I am looking forward to posting updates as and when I can.

Re: Newbie Excel owner
Welcome Ady,
Can we infer from your post that the engine hasn't run for a while, and/or its history is unknown? If you do nothing else, please replace the cam belt before you try running the engine - if it fails you will suddenly find yourself with a much bigger job than you started with!
We don't yet know your level of mechanical experience and confidence - if you could use a step-by-step on cambelt replacement I'm sure we can help, but it's pretty straightforward, no different to most other belt-driven twin-cams.
Looking forward to following your progress!
