Wiper Blade

Post by Zaphod »

My Excel failed its MOT today, on a worn out wiper blade and a binding brake calliper. Where can I find a wiper blade for it?

The thing is do you have the pin arm or a more modern u clip?

I believe it is possible to swap the pin over from the old to a new arm.

Sjs are showing them in their listing

I can lend you my spare to get you through the MOT if I can find it! I'll look tomorrow.

From memory a rolls royce had the same pin fixing and size blade.

Indeed, £45!!! however in the overall bill so far its not much so have one on it's way.. Will have a look at why else is around that may supply the rubber section to repair the one I have at my leisure, if I succeed I shall post my finding!

I tried to find a replacement rubber that would slip into the existing frame, but that didn't work.

A Peugeot 405 wiper arm and blade will fit directly in place of the existing wiper arm, and there's plenty of choice of blades that will easily fit. It even has a slight kink, which means it looks neater when parked.

If it just the blade that you are after , then most standard types have the holes in to take the side mount pin.
I still have the side mount and I have just bought a 22" bosch from GSF like this,
BOSSP22 / 939AA2201 Super Plus Windscreen Wiper Blade 550mm 22" SP201 £8.70

the 24" i had seemed to long , not making contact where the screen curves and digging into the body on park.
anyway, less drag and less weight.
