Lotus ELITE front bonnet letters

Hallo
The ELITE script on the front bonnet was fitted on the first examples only or until the end of production?
My '79 Elite 501 does not have them, and the previous owner had the car basically from new and he stated he never took them off and/or repainted the bonnet.

Readily available. De- badging has been around for ages so really need the first owners data on what they might have done. My 78 504 has them.

I would suggest trying the normal suppliers

Lotusbits would be your only real chance of a set of used ones ( or the odd letter).
