Jerry Taylor
Very sad news. Jerry Taylor, (screen name MrCoolA) passed away On Friday 11th October after battling cancer for the last few months. Those of you who met Jerry will know what an engaging, funny and kind guy he was. He will be greatly missed.

Re: Jerry Taylor
That's terrible news Shaun. I wasn't even aware that he'd been ill - he's not been on the forum for ages. If you speak to Di send her my sincere condolences.
Thanks for letting us know.

Yes I will Pete. Its hard to believe he's gone. I didn't see him very often but I will miss him massively. The only consolation is we've both got some great memories of our time with him.Pete Boole wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2024 11:16 That's terrible news Shaun. I have a photo on FB from Ripon the other year with the union flag seemingly coming out of his car roof, so I put it to half mast - ex military style

No, me neither Pete. It really is very sad. As you know he hadn't been retired long and him and Di had lots of plans.Pete Boole wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2024 13:44 Can't stop thinking about this. Great memories though, as you say Shaun.

Sad to hear, I'd be lying if I said a knew him other than as a username on here, but it's always sad to lose "one of us". From what I see here and elsewhere he was a very well regarded chap, thoughts are with his family.

Re: Jerry Taylor
That it very sad to hear. Like many on the forum, I hadn't met Jerry in person, but felt I knew him through his posts on here and also via Facebook. On occasion we had also had Messenger chat sessions about the cars and other things too, his wicked sense of humour certainly came through. RIP Jerry, my thoughts are with Di and his family.

Re: Jerry Taylor
Met him once at Raby Castle. I hid my identity from him initially, as we had crossed swords many times on the old forum. The bonnet on MrCoolA was open so I wickedly chided him for his guardless cam belt and stood back expecting a punch in the face... which never came. So then I revealed my forum identity expecting a proper punch this time... and it never came.
Ice properly broken and warm friendly chat followed.
A real nice bloke I'd hoped to meet again someday. We had much more in common than divided us. RIP Jerry

Re: Jerry Taylor
Just read this and was really shocked. Had no idea he was ill. Really hard to believe. Shaun - if you are in contact with Di please send condolences from me and Lynne. He was always such a big character at Lotus in the Peak and guaranteed good conversation and a few laughs. I remember when we were on a LITP run. We were a few cars behind him when he suddenly pulled over. I thought he had broken down but he had just decided he need a pee behind a tree as all the Lotus's went past.
