I got sick of the droopy headliner a couple of weeks ago, and just cut out its' remains.

I then hovered the inside of the roof to remove the remains of the rapidly crumbling foam!

I wonder what a carpet lined roof in an Excel would look like?

I used to have a black carpeted lined roof (no foam needed) in my Stiletto (during the Seventies) and it was very quiet and cosy inside and felt rather posh too (from a 17 yo's perspective) 8)

I am not going to ask about stiletto impressions in the carpet. I'm not. Really. I'm not.

Well the old girl is still with me, 13 years next month.

The RH front brake caliper was sticking so I had that freed off today. Seems fine now. But I have ordered a seal kit from Paul Matty's to fit in any case.

The clutch slave cylinder is leaking too, so I will have to get that replaced too

Next after that is some work on the exhaust prior t the MOT next month

Thanks for the tip off, but I have got one from Paul Mattys already. Paid a bit more than that!

Took the old girl over to A44 exhausts in Worcester on Friday and had a new mid section and flexi made up and fitted for a very reasonable £132 including VAT

Sounds sweet again!

If you live in the midlands I think they good work at a reasonable rate

This Friday I will be fitting my expensive caliper rebuild kits with the help of a couple of mates. Might give the engine some fresh oil and a minor service if the bits from Fueltheburn arrive in time (oil filter, air filter)

Well the old girl passed the MOT today so the recent work on the brakes and exhaust has paid off!

Just need to swap out the leaky clutch slave cylinder...I already have the over priced part...just a matter of getting to it!

Can't be as bad as the master cylinder - I had mine out last week and my hand is still scarred.
Well done on the MOT front, though.

Well after a delay of a couple of months I am getting the clutch slave cylinder done this week along with an oil and filter change. The Excel has not seen much use this summer, but hopefully I can finish the year with a flourish!

Booked in for a day at a relatively local sprint track. Should be interesting.

Still have my Excel and the latest bit of news is the fitting of new twin S/S back boxes at the excellent A44 exhausts on the outskirts or Worcester
