Just a quick one ?
Handbrake shoes ? I know I should search the forums but it's a Sunday evening, my eyes are full of blasting media, and my belly is full of dinner and red wine. Help a lad out and point me in the right direction, please . Hearos.

S J Sportscars
Looks like it's separate part numbers for the leading (both sides), and trailing RH, and trailing LH, £16 a shoe so £64 for a set (plus VAT and postage)

Re: hand brake shoes
I would suggest a search as I recall possible problems with the SJS ones being too thick. I know barker_001 had new friction material added to his by a specialist.

Re: hand brake shoes
Thanks, everyone for the advice.
Think I'll hope for the best on the test. Thankfully it's a one-off and won't have to be tested again.

Re: hand brake shoes
If you do need to do something with the handbrake, this is what I found when I did mine:
Rear Brake Shoes
Brakes International / brakeparts.co.uk shoes BSS9085 confirmed as being too long.
Original Lotus/Toyota shoes successfully relined at http://www.industrialfriction.com/ in Cardiff.
I believe Industrial Friction would do shipping, I was lucky to live close enough to drop them off. If you find someone on the IOM who can reline them, they will need to use 2mm lining material, this is apparently common on Subaru handbrake shoes which are similar. Any thicker and they won't fit!

Re: hand brake shoes
Why do you need to reshoe? The handbrake shoe should not wear out as it only holds the car stationery.
I think the linings were thin originally, which is why refurbs can end up oversize.

Re: hand brake shoes
On mine the friction material had separated from the metal shoe. It had worn down to about 1.3mm thickness.DavidOliver wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 16:17Why do you need to reshoe? The handbrake shoe should not wear out as it only holds the car stationery.

Re: hand brake shoes
Yep mine are the same , they look ridiculously thin and have started to separate at the ends.
