Pretty sure it's on the handbrake mounting bracket.

It is, Peter. 4 screws to remove the tunnel-mounted cubby. If my memory serves me correctly, it's then 2 screws to release the back of the tunnel trim and you can then pull the tunnel top trim back to disengage it at the front and lift the rear high enough to see the switch. Unscrew the gearknob and slide the trim off the gear stick and handbrake to remove it completely for better access.
What car is that?

The switch is under the hanbrake handle. You need to remove the leather trim which is one screw and peel upwards.
Quite often the trim gets in the way of the switch, so with the trim off try the switch light.

The light is also connected to the brake fluid reservoir - so if the fluid is low, or that switch is faulty, that could also be the cause.

Hey Guys,

Well i have pulled up the centre console of the lotus and there is a switch under the handbrake that which when the handbrake is down it hits the switch so i take it that is the one. So what i did was disconnected the switch and connected a wire between the connectors to see if the light goes out and it didn't so it doesnt seem to be the switch :?: i am now scratching my head to figure out what the issue is with keeping the handbrake light on.

I hope this makes since.

If you look at the wiring diagram you'll see that the same circuit is activated by the brake fluid level sensor as well - check that part of the circuit next.

Hi,

I'm not familiar with Lotus's yet, just moving over from Triumphs.
But the way a brake light switch normally operates is, the contacts make to bring the handbrake light on. So a check would be similar to what you did, but take the connectors off the switch, don't connect them, just leave them. If the lights go out, the switch is faulty.

Hello guys and Girls :).

Ok She is ready to go off to a friend to have the last bits fixed on the car she has new boots that have been powder coated and i am very happy how they turned out. However, She is having a running issue where if you gently push on the throttle she will rev up as normal but if you push it hard when she is cold or hot she really struggles then revs like she is starving of fuel or air please see video below.

If you can please help with ideas why she is running like this that would be a big help when i hand her over.

I am missing some pipes of the below which i believe is for the cold start. Does anyone know what size the pipes are please.

Nick that is the purge pump for hot start assistance, it purges the inlet airbox. Hose is about half inch.

Great work.
Feel like we should arrange a Sunday coffee / breakfast meet for North Oxford / South Northants so we can take a proper ganda. - Any interest?
Time to enjoy (and drive).
