Just in case you all think I've given up and thrown the spanners away.
No still plodding away.
Got the carbs off and away for a rebuild, the exhaust is off to repair a bodge that id made years ago, I've half the interior recarpeted, and most of the leather treated.
it's taking shape now lads.
Pics to follow 😉

So........
A week off work, blasting cabinet and compressor bought.
Think I'll have the front suspension back together tomorrow, I cant wait to see the front wheels back on again.
The next step is to refurbish the back end and complete the soundproofing with the new carpets.
I've got photos which ill add but unfortunately have left the camera under the car in the carpark with all my tools as it was a long day.

Looking good. I'd have liked a shot blast cabinet, but just don't have the room for it.
Work done is looking good 👍.

Not a lot was done today, way too warm.
So been trying to repair this "spoiler" thing I suppose it's not an original fitment?
Also a few photos of the carpark and what's happening here.

SJS show a spoiler like that on their website - I've been looking at pictures of cars to see what it looks like installed - very unsuccessfully! I am not sure which cars got it, or if it is designed to help airflow to the oil cooler(s). More pictures of it installed would be great!

What a pain trying to remove the rear brake pistons.
Air, no good. remove seals get in there with the dremmel wire brush and soak with penetrating oil overnight, waste of oil.
Down this morning with the blow torch and mole grips, finally got some movement and then let the celt mind take over.

Getting so close to the end now.
After the carb rebuild, it wouldn't start. Tried easy start absolutely no luck with that. Thanks to everyone here pointing to the rev limiter, that was getting it running only on the eather . The guy who rebuilt the carbs had set the floats at 30 mm .I've now adjusted them to 15mm, is that correct?
Now hopefully to set the carbs and timing correctly
I've pics but still need to do the internet thing with them.
Its getting close lads.
