Actually now Ive seen that pic I think you are right its the last Elite.

I have a letter and picture of that exact car from the owner from years back.
I had some money then ( Lol before my divorce ) and wanted an Elite. He had my details through Club Lotus and asked did I want to buy.

It was out of my budget at the time. It was an owner in the Hants area.

Best regards all.

The owner, when I took the picture (2013), was the head of the Surrey Club Lotus area. He originally had a black Elite which he was rebuilding when he son was a member of the scout troop I was a leader of in the late 1980s. He told me that this car came up and he couldn't say no. I think the car was built for Mike Kimberley after production had stopped.

Hi

The letter and photograph he sent date from 26th April 1997.

Says car was registered new in 06.10.1983. Letter says he owned the Elite from 1988. He only wanted £4500 for it at the time. I would have snatched his arm off for it had I not been married then. lol

The owners' name then was Robert Lane from Stockbridge, Hants.

I kept the photo and letter all that time in a book cover.......... :D

Im nuts about Lotus see....... so I rarely throw any Elite stuff away.

So there's still some mint condition Elites out there. I lov them to bits tbh espec the S2.2 as I feel the final design and build were better etc etc.

I SO wish I could get mine back on the road.

Best regards all.

Oliver would like to send his profound thanks for the pictures you have submitted. I put together a 20 picture Photobook which he received on Saturday morning and is absolutely thrilled with it. I am actually going to send two volumes; the first contained mainly Elite and Eclat pictures, and the second (which I will order this week) will contain predominantly Excels.

When I have time, I’ll post both collections on here so you can see them.

A quick update on his situation - he is moving home on Thursday now that he can obtain the care he needs, about which he is very pleased.

Thanks so much again for your contributions!

Cheers, Richard
