Engine mounts

Post by Mr Locust »

Has anyone got details of where the engine and gearbox mounts originate from?

Googling the numbers moulded into the somewhat perished rubber seems to indicate Toyota origins. Possibly Hilux, Hiace or Celica?

See this old thread for the gearbox mount. The Toyota part number was 12371-34020. I ordered a pattern part from the US on ebay, and it fitted perfectly. Under £25.

I filled the gap in the gearbox mount up with tiger seal once to stiffen it up, dont do it you end up with alot of driveline vibration. Bash

I am pretty sure I have a few of these left. Ebay prices are exaggerated due to costs. Its always better to ask direct as I can manipulate prices depending on what else you require. Bearing in mind I have just moved to a new premises I would have to do a stock take.
Needless to say if you needed something else like a set of spark plugs I guarantee nobody this side of the globe can currently match my prices.

I also concur with Bash. Beefing up the standard bush with tigerseal leads to NVH. You can add more material but you still need a decent size hole in the centre to take the flex or it just travels through the car.

Cheers
Kieran
