Noooooo. Hope this is not a serious suggestion from the new owners.

Re: New Lotus logo
Good to see people are still using Microsoft Paint. Lovely.
It looks really cheap and nasty. I think they were trying to hark back to the 50 / 60’s logo, but the execution wasn’t the best!

Re: New Lotus logo
Looks better smaller?
It's the loss of green that bothers me... hopefully they will produce the logo in conventional Lotus colours too?
That said, I do prefer the straight/flat Lotus rather than the more recent curved Lotus within the curvy triangle.

I remember the last time they changed it, and then they where so glad they changed it back. You don’t change a classic logo

Yes the Wickins era badge didn't work for me either -but on reflection it serves the purpose of demarcating the post-Chapman era.pistolpete wrote:I remember the last time they changed it, and then they where so glad they changed it back. You don’t change a classic logo
At least this one goes back to the beginning ... and I personally I do prefer the "straight LOTUS" logo.

I actually LIKE the Wickens type badge on our car-it's different!
Kind regards

Re: New Lotus logo
Actually, all of those companies have had branding changes to their logos through the years.
I'm not a huge fan of this one. The font looks so generic. But if they are investing in rebranding and the Evija it's all good.
It's actually kinda interesting to Google: logo changes XYZ Company
You start going "oh yeah, I remember that one"

Re: New Lotus logo
Having had a look at initial Lotus activities in a few books it seems there are two distinctive Lotus badges.
Although the slanted font for Team Lotus is quite common the logo for Lotus Engineering shows the ACBC underscribed with a crescented LOTUS in the usual bold font.
This appeared as early as 1964 (at the London Lord Mayor´s Show) and on the headed Lotus Engineering Co. notepaper of the same time.
The only thing the new logo needs is for the LOTUS to be Crescented.
If I had patience to learn how to post scans I could be more explicit, but I do not have such patience and surely a Forum member can shine and provide a pic.
Dave the cog.

Re: New Lotus logo
Coca Cola did try to change the shape of the bottle some years ago. Apparently a straight bottle is cheaper to produce.pistolpete wrote:I wasn't really talking about like or not like, its just changing a classic logo, would coca-cola or Ferrari or Alfa or Mercedes ?
General outcry got that stopped.
