Supplier for Stainless nuts?
Has anyone found a good supplier for stainless nylocks? I wanted to get some M8's but many of those in my local places are all very low profile, not as tall as normal nylocks. There are loads of suppliers on ebay but can't tell which one are decent nuts and which not.

Turns out what I need is Type-P nuts (normal height) as opposed to the more readilly available Type-T nuts (low-profile).

Yep, they have got the type-P nylocks however they also have a £3.50 per order postage charge. Now I know what it is am am looking for I ended-up ordering some from ebay which was about the same cost but without the postage charge.TAR wrote:https://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk/

I suppose that you know that stainless steel bolts / nuts have a slightly lower tensile strength than either 8.8 or 10.9 high tensile steel items and as long as you know thier limitations thats fine.

Thanks for the info. They are lower but not really significantly so, here is an interesting table:bash wrote:I suppose that you know that stainless steel bolts / nuts have a slightly lower tensile strength than either 8.8 or 10.9 high tensile steel items and as long as you know thier limitations thats fine.

In my case these are all used on bodywork fittings so outright tensile strength is unlikely to matter.
