Re: Lancaster Insurance
Not with Lancaster, but if all fails try Peter James (Birmingham)- he's the breakaway partner of Footman ... very classic car friendly and is privately owned and competitive (unlike the current FJ.)

Re: Lancaster Insurance
I've used ClassicLine for a few years. Seem to offer me the best price and have agreed valuation.
I've never had to make a claim so can't speak about their service after an accident.

Re: Lancaster Insurance
My Excel and Mini Cooper S are both with Lancaster. I have no issues with them.
Put the Duster with them as well last year saving about 40% on Direct Line renewal quote.

Re: Lancaster Insurance
I have just been quoted less than half my previous insurers premium, including agreed valuation, by ClassicLine.
Very efficient & helpful.

Re: Lancaster Insurance
If you intend to do any events at tracks you might want to check the wording of your policy. I use Norton and for several years my policy was underwritten by Chaucer, with whom events such as the Castle Combe track day were automatically covered. My policy was moved to Highway (part of LV) and now there is an exclusion of 'use on any track', which technically includes the lunchtime parade! So I'm about to dump them and get a better policy.

Well, if I was right all the time I'd get to be predictable!

Re: Lancaster Insurance
Took out a policy with Lancaster Insurance 2 months ago for £195.00. Today I have sold my Excel and contacted them to cancel the insurance and hoped for a refund for the unused 10 months. They have told me that there is no refund due.
If dealing with this company be very careful and I certainly would not recommend them.

Re: Lancaster Insurance
I guess companies who undercut the main market by 3/4 feel a need to protect their slim margins (and director's bonus)?
Mind you, if it wasn't stated in the small print - I'd be cross too.
I have no idea if mine would do the same (PJames who undercut FJ) - but the thought of looking through small print leaves me cold.

Re: Lancaster Insurance
This is disappointing to hear, but remember Lancaster are brokers and the refund policies are normally set by the insurance company.Taranis wrote:Took out a policy with Lancaster Insurance 2 months ago for £195.00. My three cars are with 3 different insurers through Lancaster.
In each case the cancellation/refund policies were clear from the proposals.

Re: Lancaster Insurance
I know they are brokers and issued the policy with Highway. I contacted Highway and they told me that there would be a refund to the broker Lancaster and they would take up the case with Lancaster. I then received a call from Lancaster and despite both Highway and myself explaining the refund Lancaster still refused to pass on the refund. I found Lancaster to be very belligerent and the staff member very aggressive.
