Unobtainium

Post by MetBlue »

We had a visit today on the LGT stand from the Business Manager for Classic Team Lotus.
We discussed the spares they've taken on from Paul Matty and he seemed genuinely interested in how they could support the Grand Tourers going forward.
I mentioned that top and bottom windscreen trims for Elite / Eclat would definitely find a market if they could reproduce.
Any suggestions for other rocking horse items warmly received and I can forward on.
Tony

That sounds a very positive move from the Business Manager of Classic Team Lotus. Lets hope something happens.

Top windscreen trim - The screen is out of my Elite at the moment - so as I don't have a good top trim to go back - the plan is to make a top trim out of 2mm stainless steel, which will then be polished. I have drawn up the profile (from a bird eye view perspective) and plan to have it laser cut to the exact shape. My idea at the moment is then to bond this strip to the glass - doing it this way round, I will not be using the "T" section part of the factory trim, and as such I will not be requiring the little clips. Of course, as things progress, this great idea may have to be fine tuned to get the desired result. I will know the outcome in a few weeks time and I can share the result with you. Marcus

If you'd posted that last Monday I wouldn't have took it seriously. 😀

Not sure I've seen it. Anyone got a photo?

This is it in an Esprit

I’ve seen the same in Eclat and Elite.
