MY 89 Door strap

Post by MetBlue »

Has anyone got a serviceable drivers side door strap ( MY 89 onwards).
Image

Typically I have a passenger side from when I changed the door beam. I think it might work up side down, but would rather fit the right one if I can find one.

Fitted the passenger side upside down this afternoon to drivers door. Penny washer either side and looks to be quite serviceable. Certainly better than that broken spring and plate in photo.
Time will tell

That’s an issue I often have with SJ. Order something like O rings, grommets etc and they don’t seem to have a sensible postage cost. Other companies in the wider world manage it, but not SJ.

The springs aren't complicated - I bent my own. They are mirror images of each other so if you have a template it's easy enough to copy.
