You know what, if anyone would have no.6 on the bonnet schematic (Grille, Bonnet Louvre (Triple Centre Type) it would save having to make one.

You have grilles on you louvres? I don't! Is this something that Lotus put on some cars and not others, or am I just missing something is supposed to be there? Not that I'm that bothered about replacing them even if they should be there...

Both parts available from SJS for a tenner plus tax and post. Why bother with used?

All said and done it's £18 for the two from SJS, which, apologies if I sound cheap, but seems a bit steep.

They are in the parts list but as a Lotus owner for about 3 months, I quickly learned, 'with Lotus, anything can happen'.

I can't remember exactly what the check strap guide looks like - is it just a length of tubing that rotates on a shouldered bolt? Pretty sure I've got a spare bobbin somewhere - I'll have a look.

My Excel (89 MY) had the wire below the louvres as well - and it fell out as well!
