Excel SE Wanted
Hi All,
New to the forum, but not new to Excels having had three in the late 80's early 90's.
Having missed owning them for over 20 years I have decided it is now time to hunt for another one!
Ideally looking for a late car so 1990 onwards, if any of you guys know of anything available or indeed have a car to sell yourselves I would be very interested to hear from you. I am really keen to get hodl of a clean unmolested example if possible.
Looking forward to seeing what might be out there!!
Thanks in advance.
Steve

Re: Excel SE Wanted
Hiya and thank you……we did see this and not really interested in the SA….
However, we did get to see the other low mileage Excel you told us about and it transpires that the Speedo was changed at 14312 miles in 95 and the true mileage is 33k….the cam belt needs changing and there are issues with the steering and the alloy window trim flaps around. Also might be a problem with drivers door rattling around at 50mph…..so….the vendor wants 18k and it’s just not worth that amount…..thanks again for your input….Steve

Re: Excel SE Wanted
Only 2 pedals so room to park the left foot
Effortless driving with a hidden spirit.
Cruise control - which does work!
And a BMW gear stick - what more could you want.
edit : forgot to say no frigging clutch master slave issues

Re: Excel SE Wanted
I'd also add that the SA driver will be in more apprropriate gear much more often, versus those (more recently qualified) SE drivers who were bought up on 'the diesel driving philosophy' of getting into top gear before reaching 30 mph.
These days I don't select 5th when driving the SE on country roads. I tend to use 5th now mainly for overdrive cruising above 60 mph. Keeping the 912 engine within the power / torque band transforms the driving experience - and that's where the SA shines. .

I missed out an 'a' before 'more', so it does sound like I'm referring to choice of fashion-wear.
I still wear a sheep skin coat, by the way. You need one up here in North Yorkshire!
I also like Border Collie dogs, and they seem to like me for some reason, maybe it's the coat?
