Held in with silicon.

Flattened the gripper.

Hard to see but its screwed to the inside of the doorskin with the rubber against the glass, hopefully better than a bit of foam thats usually there.

So does it work ? The ones in the outer door frame, yes, a marked difference. the ones inside the door, I will have to let you know as we are all confined to barracks right now.... Stay safe.

Bash, it looks like it was always meant to be there but - the one in the top door frame takes-up the space of the door frame 'gutter' (which probably never ever worked well).... so where does the rubber in this gutter fit/press against to keep water out/ allow run-off from roof etc?

btw, Have you tried a hose test yet to see how it works?

I will post another picture at some point but the outer frame one fills all of the gap around the frame as it deforms so any water from the roof runs over the outside of the glass. No water got in during the recent monsoons and it passes a powerful hosepipe test with ease.

Do you think it works better than the Esprit-style trim around the window frame? I think that is D-section? Great mod!

Cheers Pete. Ive not really looked at the Esprit style one in the flesh so I dont know the answer to that one, I just had some door seal rubber hanging about so I thought Id give it a try. Speaking of giving it a try, carefully cutting the rubber part off is time consuming and very trying.
Anyroadup, heres a piccy of the soft rubber seal deforming into the gap around the frame when the doors shut.

Looks like a good fit. What's it like at the front of the frame - as it turns downward? Looking forward to seeing it - sometime!

Yes I did this many years ago, that window surround channel is just made for a rubber seal. Makes closing the door a bit harder but it’s a worthwhile mod, less wind noise and no water ingress.

That's a good fit there Bash - better than I'd expected! Another job to put on the list. It will be interesting to see if it will work as well on an Elite with it's aluminium trim.
