Interesting, I hadn’t realised the Riviera option was launched as late as April 1982.
Edit: having read the article carefully, it was launched on the UK market in October 1981. This feature marks its worldwide launch.

Interesting that they are still referring to the body as GFRP in this article. Within a few months they released this News Release for the launch of the Excel, where they are almost pleading with the media to drop the acronym GFRP and refer to the body as Composite.
