. I just thought they'd been hidden away for so long you may not have them on the register.
Thanks Tony. The 504 was new to me so now added to the register. The other was on eBay a few months back so I'd picked it up then. When I last looked, it had reached £1600, but reserve not met. That's about what it's worth IMO. Being now at auction, it did give me a photo of the VIN plate though, so I've been able to lift the chassis number. 👍. I like auctions.

Technically its not a chassis, its a subframe, that's why the body shell carries the vehicle id and you can get away with a swap.

Indeed, that is how I got the DVLA to accept my 'Europa' on it's original Europa V5 / registration after I fitted the Esprit 'sub frame'. I then let that debate settle a couple of years before telling them about the V8 in it and getting that on the V5. I never got round to mentioning the body had to be made a tad longer to fit the Esprit wheelbase. Didn't want to push my luck tooooooo far.

The ebay 504 went for £2,059, which I think is about right if all the important parts are there & the aluminium trim is all good. The red paint isn't faded at all, which indicates it hasn't been left outside. Let's hope the new owner shows up here in the coming weeks.

Thanks Zaphod. I'd got the car, but not the numbers.

Like a lot of the later cars, I suspect your build date is at least 9 months earlier than the first registered date. I have an SA recorded with VIN just 10 cars earlier, but registered 28/04/89.

Reg date was 16th Feb 1990, It does have all the 89 MY mods (I'm guessing the engine was built 4th week of '89), except the front lower section of the bumper, but it also has signs of having had a frontal impact! It has not been on the road since 2001 as far as I can tell so won't have any MOT history online

I'll answer my own question: Yes you have. I've just realised I told you about this same car when it was advertised on ebay six months ago.

Let's hope it gets sold & recommissioned/restored this time.

I'd got the plate, but not the VIN or engine Nos. - Thanks.
Was on Ebay last year a couple of times. V5 was re-issued Oct 23, which coincides with it's last Ebay appearance, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is a fast turn around.

Another one popped up for sale in Coventry, I don't know if it was on the register already Tony? B484XVF. Some of the later C...XVF regs were factory owned cars used for magazine reviews, maybe this one has an interesting history too.
