Thermal ignition valve

Post by Tanz »

Just got one of these from Lotusbits brand new and delivered in 24 hours - great service

It came in a bag labelled 'Dennis Carpenter D5ZZ-8A564-A'. Just in case we are stuck as to where to source them in the future here is a link to their site in the USA

https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/produc ... zz-8A564-A

Might want to move this to the alternative parts section.
Cheers, Phil

Alternative sources for these and different part numbers (it’s an American Ford part) can be found in this thread - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10375

That's not like Mike @ Lotusbits - I've known him deliberately remove items from packaging, just to obscure their source so we don't have an alternative to getting them from him!

Wouldn’t be surprised if shipping from the USA cancelled out any price advantage compared to buying from Lotusbits.

Quite possibly. Not sure how much Lotusbits charge. I know how much I paid from SJS! You can have one shipped from USA all taxes prepaid and delivery for £30, so I could easily have bought 2 for less than SJS.

The cost from Lotusbits is £40 plus VAT plus shipping = £60
SJ quoted £58.53 including VAT and Shipping but then sent an email to say 'sorry - the part is now obsolete so we cannot supply'

It is surprising how much you can still save when buying from USA on some items. M100 owners regularly buy cambelt kits, water pumps etc from Rockauto in USA as half the price of UK suppliers and the last time I ordered parts took just 4 days to come and that was over a UK bank holiday weekend !

If anyone interested this is the link for,
I believe, the correct part.

Ignition key blanks are another example. I guess anything Ford, Chrysler or Toyota is well supported over there.
A few weeks ago I was looking and Ebay USA has the Ilco TR 33 blank at around £10 for a bag of 10 (flat without the plastic top).
