Blue Hylomar for cam cover gasket

Post by shaunw »

Searched but drawn a blank. I am right in thinking a smear of Blue Hylomar on both surfaces when reinstalling the cam covers will help with gasket alignment and sealing aren't I ?

I'm going to repaint the cam covers shortly.

That’s what I’ve used and had no leaks, BUT not the normal blue hylomar, I use the Hylomar AF. this is solvent free and stays a little soft/tacky so will self heal to a certain extent.

Also very good to use on O rings for carb mounting - I was advised to do this by Tim Engel.
