Where is the engine number on the LC engine?

Where is the engine number on the LC engine?
I was searching thru the service history of my Excel and it looks like it's had a replacement engine at some point.
Is there a place I can find the engine number? I've had a look and I couldn't find it marked anywhere, thanks.
All I know so far is that the engine isn't the HC one, it's got the black cam covers.

Welcome! I had a T3 many years ago - great bike . The engine number is on the block near the starter motor.

Re: Where is the engine number on the LC engine?
I have an 85 Excel and everything indicates it is LC.
I have been looking at photographs taken when reburbishing and can see a number on the block D907E0050Y but this is not the registered number.
The registered number is DZ2912850722553. Another photograph shows the cylinder head, it is the rear part where there is the core plug, and the number 22553 can be seen punched in.

Hi David.
That D907.... is the head casting, so not the block itself. The block will also have a casting number of a similar nature, the engine number is stamped into the main block, near the starter motor.

This photograph posting is driving me mad. I go to Onedrive using the browser, click on the photo, generate, copy and then in the post clic paste.
Is there a size limitation?
If anyone wants to see the photographs just send me an e-mail address.

Hi Dave,
It looks like you're pasting the copied address in the wrong spot - it needs to be where the cursor is flashing when you click on the insert picture tab - in between the two square brackets [img] xxx [img] where the x's are, but the link you copied also seems to be wrong....when you click on the address under "Copy the URL to embed image" if automatically highlights the link, then it's easiest to press ctrl+c to copy, and then paste in between the brackets (ctrl+v).

What I do to make it easier is after clicking on the picture frame that creates the [img].[img] is immediately press the space bar a couple of times to give a bigger target/space to aim for when right clicking to paste the code. Just check that the curser is flashing between 2 central brackets.

Re: Where is the engine number on the LC engine?
Looks like I´ve cracked it, posting photos that is. Too complex to explain.
If you zoom in on the block you cannot find a specific engine number as is seen on the cylinder head bottom left corner.

Re: Where is the engine number on the LC engine?
If there's no number on your block it must be an unstamped replacement. I've got a new block with no number on it.

Re: Where is the engine number on the LC engine?
Thanks very much for the help, I've managed to find the stamped engine number now. The engine looks to be the correct type, a LC engine with PAS.
I'll need to order a few spares in the future so wanted to be sure to get the correct parts.

Re: Where is the engine number on the LC engine?
@DavidOlver, the photo angle of the block wouldn't probably be suitable to see the number. It should be stamped in the flat surface which is near that black pipe, on the surface parallel to the cylinder head face.
