I believe a faulty electric guage may read high. I installed a mechanical (capillary) guage some years ago and what I see is what I have got.
I bought the guage from Merlin Motorsports, easy fit and quite cheap.

Mines an oil line to the gauge its much more accurate than the electrical one thats standard on the car.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.
