Does anyone have a source for the rubber boot that goes on top of the gearbox?

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

Do you know how to get this boot off? Mine is completely perished but I don't know how to disassemble the chrome part of the gear stick.

Hi.
The Lower Gear Lever Gaiter is supplied by SJ Sports Part Number B082F4114F @ £28.70 + VAT & delivery.

I bought one in September last year.

As to fitting it you have to trim the top down as it will not fit as supplied, and a little soap also helps to slid it down the lever.

So the top part (chromed) of the lever cannot be removed? It does feel like it is bonded in and is there to dampen the gear change?
How much do you have to trim back as this will reduce its ability to keep out dirt?

Cheers
