Carb rebuild kit

Post by dancroft1984 »

Has anyone used the Lotusbits non-genuine carb rebuild kit? It's nearly half the price of the Dellorto one from SJs. Normally I'd go straight for the Dellorto kit, but it's quite a saving and being Lotusbits, I'd expect them to only sell decent stuff.

Bought my genuine kit from Dellorto supplier - Eurocarbs. Check any kit you get has the viton tipped float needle.

I got the kit from SJ sportscars in the end. It looks like it's official Dell'orto. Though the sticker says DHLA40, and I thought the excel was a 45 (from my previous thread on here). It does say specifically this is for non-SE Excels.

This one.
I've tried reading the stamping on the carbs but it's undecipherable without taking them off, which I can't do until next week.

To close this off, Carbs are rebuilt and car is running. The set was correct, I did have a few bits leftover but all seems well.

I found the same, I suspect the kit covers several different applications so there are some redundant parts in there.
