I’m trying to fix my electrics on my Elite S2.2. I think I’ve narrowed the problem down to a poor earth from the nearside rear lights. The earth wire disappears into the loom, and the offside lights have their own earth wire into the loom but suffer no problem. Does anybody have a diagram of the earth point locations, or know where the earth point onto the chassis from the rear loom is, or does it all go to the earth point in the engine compartment?
Cheers, Richard

I'll dig out my rear loom and have a look. It's in poor shape in places but may reveal where the earth wires go.

OK - bear in mind mine is a '74 Elite. From the nearside rear lights the earth wire goes to a splice within the loom and from there to the battery post. There are lots of other earth wires along the way, but that is the path from the rear lights. Let me know if you need more tracing while the loom is out for it's Spring Break!!

Brilliant - thanks Pete!
I dug the loom out behind the battery and yes there are 2 wires going to the battery post. Which could mean that a splice in the loom is the problem!
Just the indicators and the nearside headlamp lifter to sort, but Castle Combe may be unlikely

Look to make a temporary earth direct to the Battery to get you mobile whilst the real bugger is isolated.
