For all those wiring gremlins we love, this is the place to discuss them.

Electronic Distributor

Post by DOC711 »

Hey Guys
Can someone let me know what the original part number for the distributor on an 87 excel manual.
Also what a direct drop in for an electronic ignition system. I tried getting one from the UK but have just been told they can’t supply the part.
Thanks in advance.
Kemal

A 123 ignition is a direct replacement, but self contained, so doesn’t use the current ignition amplifier. You will have to programme it with the advance curves, but that does mean you can fine tune your ignition.

Lucas 45D sounds familiar. You need to trawl the search function.

Kemal,

might be worth dropping a message to this company with your requirements. Haven't used them but they list fully electronic distributors in stock.
