More digging in the dirt

For all those wiring gremlins we love, this is the place to discuss them.

More digging in the dirt

Post by richardw »

It started as a few simple jobs to do during lockdown, but for every one I complete there seem to be two more. As the bulb in my fuel gauge had died, I've got the dash out and just replaced the instrument lights with warm white LEDs (look good). I've also fitted an LED to the fibreoptic switch illumination, having bought a new light source unit. Not much coming through the fibreoptic wires, and on close examination most of the fibres are dark. So onto Ebay - found some fibreoptic wire that will fit (2mm fibre diameter, 3mm including PVC sheath) and bought 4 metres which should be plenty. Due to arrive next Thursday, but away next weekend - grrr!

I could have put it all together today and settled for no illumination, but having got there it would always rankle.
