For all those wiring gremlins we love, this is the place to discuss them.

workshop manual electrical section

Post by Lozza74 »

Hi All,

Ive recently purchased a 1983 Excel, that as you may expect needs some work. Luckily the car came with a full workshop manual, however unfortunately it has section MF - the electrical section for cars post 1987, but does not have section MA - the electrical section for cars before 1986.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Section MA for pre-1986 cars from? Either PDF or paper copy is OK.

Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard,

I recently acquired a set of service notes which, I'm sure, has a compete set of wiring diagrams for all model years. My car is a 1988 model so don't need up to 1986 diagrams. I'll pm you.
What car is that?

Hi

I’ve recently joined the world of Excel ownership with a 89MY car and have come across your post on this forum, and hope you might be able to help?

I’m looking for a wiring diagram to help me fault find the electric door mirrors that aren’t working (Citroen), before I go poking around with my multi meter.

Regards

Clive

Hi Clive. I am very pleased you have got your Excel.
On this Forum, under General you can find Online Parts Manual.
This will cost you 30 pounds but is well worth it as a reference as it is complete with diagrams.
For your info I have renewed the downpipe, speedo cable and now resealing the saddle cam covers
after a complete engine oil clean out.
Also got some side joint black strip.

Dave the cog.

Clive,
I live in NE Hampshire, and have both Parts and Workshop manuals.
If you want to visit sometime, and under covid constraints, to view these let me know.

Hi Tony
Thanks for the offer.
I’m in Romsey and will certainly arrange to come over at some point so I can scan a few pages of the electrical section.

Clive
