I had trouble sourcing wiring diagrams for my '85 Excel. I did manage to sleuth some scans up online years ago (can't remember where) and I've put it into a handy pdf file. If it's allowed I don't mind sharing it if I can figure out how to attach a file (mods, I might need your help).
Or maybe they're already in a technical section on here somewhere and I'm just being silly.

Re: Wiring diagrams for early Excels
Lovely offer but the diagrams technically belong to Lotus, and would be under copyright (I believe). Rather than risk infringing that via the forum (in which we are guests) I suggest not to distribute here.
Anywhere else is your call.
On that note, I think I will try and contact Lotus and ask if we can.

Re: Wiring diagrams for early Excels
Lotus (at least when they have been asked in the pre-Geely past) have been a bit dog-in-the-manger about this. If they were enforcing copyright because they wanted to make money out of selling copies of things, that would be fair enough - and I would buy a new workshop manual from them if they were selling (I have one but it is in a very shabby state!). Since they are not selling it themselves, and appear to have no intention of doing so, it does seem un-necessarily mean to prevent anyone else publishing it, particularly if they are not profiting from it.
The devil in me wants to publish anyway, and if Lotus notice and get upset we apologise profusely and take it down straight away. They are hardly likely to sue, particularly since we are neither making a profit, nor denying Lotus a profit. But it's probably the right thing to do to ask nicely first.

That was my thought, hence asking first. I know the forum/club has a bit of an agreement on the parts book with Lotus and I don't want to sour anything. If it does turn out that everyone is happy, then I'm happy to fire it to one of the mods.

Re: Wiring diagrams for early Excels
I have asked Andy Graham in the past about publishing extracts from the service notes on the forum, but he didn’t reply. I know there has been a major reorganisation at Lotus and, unless Andy is still there, I’m not sure there would be anyone with the slightest interest in what we are talking about.
I’ll ask some questions and see if I can find anybody to give us an answer.
Cheers, Richard

Andy is still around, or at least he was at the time of the recent NEC show.
I'll ask the contact I got from Classic Team Lotus. I owe him an email anyway about the rocking horse items. I'll phrase it around Richards logical arguement.

Elan Central have every document regarding the Elan M100 on their forum. Doesn't seem to be a problem....
