Well if I can be the first to beg some info:
I have a standard 160hp excel with the manual (toyota) gearbox.
Also has the diff it left the factory with.
If it's relevant, it's been stood for 15 years.

Hi
A 75w-90 is the best choice for the gearbox and diff and here are the ones we have.
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90- ... fluid.aspx
If you want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, Gulf Competition, Motul Gear 300, Redline 75w-90NS and Millers TRX are ideal for the gearbox. The Castrol Universal, Motul Motylgear and Fuchs Gear Syn are all decent alternatives. The Fuchs Syn 5, Millers CRX, Redline 75w-90 GL5, Motul Gear 300 and Gulf Competition are ideal for the diff. The Fuchs Sintopoid, Castrol Syntrax Longlife, Millers TRX, Motul Motylgear, Mobil SHC and Amsoil FGR are also good choices.
Cheers
Tim

Just a note to add here as the subject of gearbox oil has been one I have been researching for quite a while having destroyed one gearbox already.
Searching through the various Supra forums, recommendation against oil high in phosphorous due to killing off many of the bronze components on the W58.
GL5 grade oil seems to be frowned upon as does heavy shock oil.
Consensus seems to be that anyone looking for longevity or running serious power through a W58 gearbox should be running Redline MT90 for the gearbox oil.

Re: Gearbox, diff & transfer box recommendations HERE >
The GL4/GL5 thing that seems to be getting more and more well known is based on out of date information. Back in the 1970s, when GL5 oils were first introduced, it was very quickly realised that the additives attacked yellow metals. That was no good to the oil manufacturer or user, so the additive pack was soon changed (by reputable oil companies) so that they use the same additives as in a GL4 oil, but in a higher concentration. That means that GL5 oils from reputable companies will not attack brass synchros. I don't know if that is the case with oils from companies that we don't deal with though.
There are certain GL5 oils that are better as diff oils as they are too slippery for synchros, but they are not attacking the brass.
Cheers
Tim
