Belts, Plugs, Filters, Fuels, Oils, additives etc..... Told you this might morph into servicing and service items.

Emergency Services

Post by amarshall »

Just a thought - something we used to have in the Scottish Kit Car Club was a list of members + addresses + phone numbers where tea, sympathy, tools, workshops, spares and/or a lift home etc. could be found by members in trouble. Would that be a good idea for this board ?

Personally, I'm willing to offer tea, sympathy, tools and a lift to any Lotus owner who finds themselves with a broken car in my area.

I could certainly manage the tea sympathy and lift part though I'm not sure my limited supply of tools would be much help.
Being a pharmacist though I'm quite good with that common Lotus ailment..... bleeding knuckles!

Thanks Graeme, I'm suggesting the same thing to NYLOC and it looks like I may end up creating a list for them too.

If members are willing to offer support to other Lotusists (?), send me your contact details and what level of support you can offer. I'll create a downloadable list and try to keep it up to date. Minimum data needed : Name, Address [daytime &/or evening/weekend], Phone number [daytime &/or evening/weekend], support you can offer (tea/coffee, tools, bed for the night, workshop, spares, lift from breakdown site to somewhere else, bandages, pharmaceuticals etc.)

I'm willing to be on the end of the phone if anyone needs me. just call 07500 412073 or text and if I can, (work etc) will help in whatever way I can. Taunton is roughly in the middle of Somerset so yell if needed!
I REALISED YOU CANT LIVE WITHOUT A LOTUS!!! Until now

I'm willing to be available to anyone who has problems in my area - I can provide a reasonable range of tools, moral encouragement, tea, whisky etc...

I'm also happy to help other members if they're in a fix. My most recent escapade was a chap with a Toyota Aygo, whose auxiliary drive belt snapped. We found one in stock at a local motor factors and fitted it on my drive while his breakdown service updated him on reasons why they were late. Got the car repaired & on the IoW ferry in time for his family celebration. :D

I'd be happy to help out if anyone had the misfortune to be in Lowestoft or nearby.

I recently had the assistance of a chap in an Austin Healey replica, which was most appreciated, turned out be be a toasted coil.

A brilliant idea. PM with details sent.

If it is of help to anyLotus owner I can offer:

Food & drink
Lifts within a reasonable distance (say an hour any direction)
Tools
Possibly temporary off road vehicle storage on the understanding it would be outside and subject to their own insurance

.....and possibly a bed for the night for your wife or girlfriend. Not sure about you though
