Petrol tank connector

Post by Grosbard »

Hi all!
I'm planning to replace my fuel hose with something more modern that will work with E10 fuel (I'm located in California, and non-E10 fuel is extremely hard to find here). I've got everything picked out already, and in case anyone is interested, I'm going with Earl's Vapor Guard 5/16" hose for much of it...except for using Earl's Easy Form 5/16" hardline for the long stretch that goes thru the chassis.

My question is, what connector is on the bottom of the fuel tank? I know the original was a threaded compression fitting, but I don't know the thread size or anything like that. Basically I'm wondering what I should purchase to connect to the connector on the bottom of the fuel tank. Any advice is much appreciated!! Thanks!

You probably didn't get a reply because nobody knows the answer to your thread question but if your selected hose is a flexi one then the threaded bung wouldn't need to be disturbed.

The banjo has a female output. So the original was a nylon-like hose compression fit into that. Since I'm replacing the nylon-like hose with E-10 compatible hose, my thought was to replace that compression fitting with a female to male adapter. Then it will be easy to clamp the new rubber hose onto the male end. So my only question is - what size and pitch should that male end be that goes into the banjo? Thanks in advance!

Awesome! Thank you both so much!! So I guess I just need a BSP to NPT adapter and I can use an 1/4 NPT connector to the rubber hose!
