cam belt

Post by pistolpete »

Hi All, Ive had a spare cam belt sitting in the garage for 3 years never been used always stored inside. Is it still good to use? or does it have a shelf life?

Cheers

Pete

they do have a shelf life but it all depends on manufacturer , storage conditions and in our case whether the belt is slightly under-spec or not (I use a 25mm belt which is slightly smaller so weaker than an OEM one).

Gates (OK that's their OZ site) say 6 years at best.
