Excel Bonnet for sale.......early model.....BRAND NEW!!!!!!!

Post by peter319 »

I have an early model Excel bonnet for sale. It is Calypso Red and has never been fitted to a car. It is complete with all catches, centre black grill and all sound deadening. Even a used bonnet will set you back £80 plus grill, plus catches from most Lotus spares dealers.
I'm after £70 complete and can courier to mainland UK for under a tenner. BARGAIN...........
PM me for a pic.
Thanks.

I think I'd like to buy your bonnet. I've tried sending a PM but it's not working.

Can you email pics to gordonhaveron at yahoo dot com (remove the spaces and put in the symbols).

Where in the country are you?

Thanks,

Gordon

The bonnet wasn't the right fit for Gordon as his was a later car so it's still available. I would like to sell soon so get in touch folks.

Pardon my ignorance but didn't the early Excels have no grilles at all? And I have not seen any black grilles on an Excel, only body colour slots.

I am wanting to buy an Elite/Eclat Riviera bonnet (the one with 7 black slots, in Calypso if possible) could it be it's one of those? Do you have a picture to email?

It looks as if I'm the one with most ignorance....
So far I've been told it's for a late Excel, an Elite and an Eclat!
Here is a pic so if it looks as if it will fit yours it's still here for sale!

Thanks Jerry,
I'm open to any enlightenment as I have no idea what it's from!
It's the same shape as my '86 Excel bonnet but mine has the side vents so I'm none too wise on the matter.
Maybe Elite or Eclat then?

definatly an elite/eclat (non-riveria) bonnet.

to clarify, you will notice the centre section is stepped down on this one rather than up as on the excel

Just out of interest, how did it end up being painted/complete and never put on a car :?:

It was a "slave" for the production design.
I'm none too sure exactly what that means but it's definately new.
