2 interesting Elites for sale

Post by TrevorK »

I came across these two adverts for Elites for sale.

https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1669539#&gid=1&pid=4

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/16114912

Neither is perfect, i.e they both need work but the asking prices are strong which, to me, is a sign that people are thinking that they are worth more than they used to.
What car is that?

The statement made on the yellow one 'This is number one on production of s2 model' is incorrect. The S2.2 launched in 1980.
Being a 1983 car makes it more likely it's one of the last

It's a strong price especially as it says it's been sat for 15 years, unless all the recommissioning work has been done.

The other one may be more work than the seller thinks and it's price probably reflects a good undamaged example.

I would love the prices to rocket, but I'm not sure these cars are going to sell for those sums :)

It does quote the Lotus provenance is available so that statement could be true if registered after sitting in Lotus unsold. The early 80's was magic for registering cars.
