Whats going on with the gearbox in this car?
At first I thought the lever had been removed and was just resting in about the right place, then I spotted no radio and a bespoke piece of trim around the stick. .

Re: Ebay Elite
I've seen this car recently, maybe on a Facebook group. Found it on this page https://www.facebook.com/groups/1614494 ... /729254255.
It was originally for sale for £10k. Paintwork is not so good.

What car is that?

Re: Ebay Elite
I thought the same. Gear box looks non-std.
I guess most on here knows that a 74 car originally had the Lotus modified Leyland 'Beans' gearbox, so are bound to notice the odd gear lever position, but a prospective buyer and newbie to Elites might miss it. They're not the most robust and, for some owners, would be a pain to fix or find a replacement...and some owners just never liked them.
I really liked the 'Beans' box in my 76 501. It has a really close/tight/narrow selector pattern with well- selected ratios to optimise the limited torque of the 907. Never had a problem with mine in 10 years of ownership.
Hopefully the ratios in the replacement box also suit the 907 and the diff ratio?
