Wheels painted

Post by Big Jim »

While I had all the wheels off doing the brakes I spruced up the wheels . Three 400/500 spay cans did 4 wheels . Etch primer , silver , lacquer , and that included doing one hub cap twice as I dropped it butter side down .

Nice Job Jim, and much cheaper than a professional refurb

Very smart job 8) . I did mine a few summers ago, sprayed them with clear lacquer and put the wheels back on. I took the Excel for a drive, expecting that the lacquer had dried, but it hadn't and the front rims have a thin sheen of brake dust stuck in the lacquer.......

Very nice job, Jim.

My wheels aren't too bad (unless you look close). But you've inspired me to rub down and spray the scuffed trims on my daughter's little car. Was going to buy a new set but actual Ford ones are about £50, and I've got a can of wheel paint in the shed. All I need is a reasonable weather day...
