body straps?
On my Excel there used to be two steel straps in front of the driveshafts connecting the sides of the rear seat tubs. Now they have rusted away. Anyone know the purpose? Are these rear seatbelt mounting points?

Re: body straps?
Yes , and it is common for these to need replacing.

Re: body straps?
As above and lotus bits have just had a batch of stainless ones made.
It’s an MOT fail if rear seatbelts fitted or required to be fitted.

Re: body straps?
No issue here, it's not a requirement and there are no belts fitted. It's an easy enough piece to make but I doubt it will ever make it to the top of the to-do list
But thanks for the reply's !
